A Louse in Blunderland

Living in America today is like being in a fairytale. But not the happily ever after variety. It is more the upside-down, topsy-turvy effect of a nightmare after hearing a Lewis Carroll bedtime story!

When an American officer can yell, "Allah Akbar", kill several people, and have it called workplace violence, one is tempted to look around for the Queen of Hearts, and the jury box filled with animals. But, the soldiers killed by Nidal Malik Hasan were not a deck of cards. They were real live human beings. Shot down by a self-professed religious fanatic. Unfortunately there is no one calling "Off with his head."

I cannot help but think of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid as Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. The venomous idiocy spoken by Pelosi and Reid seldom makes any more sense than the never-ending twaddle from the Tweedles.

There are ample caucuses in Congress. The Black Caucus, the Tea Party Caucus, the Progressive Caucus, and so on. For the most part they simply remind me of the Caucus Race from Alice in Wonderland. Alice and the animals run around and around in circles until they are exhausted. At which point the Dodo declares everyone a winner and wants prizes passed out. Alice is the one expected to provide the prizes. Sort of like Congress forever expecting the American taxpayers to forever be providing funding for their excesses.

The comparisons between our current political situation and the Mad Hatter's tea party are simply overwhelming! If it weren't so tragic, it would be hilarious! The Liberal media sleeping through the scandals is like the Dormouse sleeping through the tea party, safely ensconced in his teapot. The ever-present scandals make me think of the dirty teacups that everyone keeps moving on to a new one, which is no better than the one they had. Singing the song, "A Very Merry Un-Birthday" as if all is happy, makes me think of the constant commentary from the Liberal Media and the current administration that all is well and getting better. Just nonsensical lyrics that make no more sense than White House press releases. And, of course, presiding over it all: the Mad Hatter! Obama himself. Trying to wear many hats and be the executive, legislative, and judicial branches all rolled into one.

The biggest problem is that the hole we have fallen into is not just a home for a rather large white rabbit. The hole we have is quite a bit larger than that. It is the devastating amount of debt we have accumulated, particularly under this administration. A debt that we cannot currently hope to ever repay. We are leaving our children a legacy that amounts to a great big lot of nothing . . . except debt, debt, and more debt. Debt they will be drowning in as surely as the animals in the flood created by a gigantic Alice who began to cry.

But, perhaps we too can find our way out of this dark mirror looking glass and back home to the America we love. We must simply awaken ourselves from this bad dream by facing reality and making tough decisions. Decisions that start at the voting booth. Decisions that continue as we do what is really right and not what is considered politically correct. We must stand together against those who are trying to make us believe their bedtime stories. If Conservatives, Libertarians, Reagan Democrats, TEA Partiers, Constitutionalists, and all others who want the nightmare to end will just stand together and vote in a block . . . the Leftist Progressive dream world will fade away like the Cheshire Cat until not even Obama's smug smile is left to haunt us!
