With Obama's executive orders, unconfirmed appointments, and other DC shenanigans I am reminded of Ramses, from the movie "The Ten Commandments", pointing his finger and declaring, "So let it be written. So let it be done!"
Obama seems to confuse being President of the United States with being King of the World. Ummm . . . not exactly. We are a nation of free citizens, not subjects and slaves. We are supposed to be ruled by laws, not by a dictatorial egomaniac who just sidesteps the legal procedures put in place by our citizenry and our governments for nearly 2-1/2 centuries.
By circumventing the process put in place to keep a balance of power in our government, Obama has taken in too much power and taken away too many rights. He is seemingly well on the way to trying to become a tyrant. Something many Americans' and their ancestors immigrated to this country to escape.
Obama's oppressive style of governance is abhorrent to Americans who cherish the American Constitution. We greatly value the rights given us by our Maker and supposedly protected by our Constitution and Bill of Rights. Many Americans believe in the Declaration of Independence as strongly today as did those Americans of 1776. It was not just a refutation of the tyranny of King George III, but of ever suffering tyrannical rule in America.
An American president upon entering office takes an oath specified in Article II, Section 1, of the Constitution:
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.Obama took this oath, but must have had his fingers crossed behind his back, 'cause he sure as heck doesn't seem to think he actually has to live up to the words he said. At least it seems to me that he is trying in every way he can to denigrate the Constitution and take away the rights it gives to American citizens.
Well, I, and a lot of Americans, got news for you, Barack Hussein Obama. Your father and your name may have come from the same continent where most of Egypt lies, but that still don't make you Pharaoh! So, just 'cause the words are coming out of your mouth, it doesn't make it law or gospel. It just makes you another power-grabbing, lying, far-left politician who doesn't understand that the true greatness of America is her freedom-loving history and citizens.
That being said, I am reminded of another line from that great film, "The Ten Commandments". This one spoken by Moses: "Let my people go!" Although, I would paraphrase it to say, "Let my freedom go!"
