More Like Confiscation of the Constitution

I am greatly distressed by the ever creeping gun-control talk coming out of our government and through the media. In my opinion it is never really about controlling guns, but about controlling citizens. An unarmed population is very easily controlled. I believe they are called slaves, serfs, peons, etc.

That the talk has been ratcheted up to consideration of confiscation of guns of private citizens is downright terrifying! Because I consider this just one more step along the path of eliminating all of our rights under the Constitution of the United States. A process that has been sped up under the recent administration to a frightening degree.

Our Constitution provides for the right of the people to keep and bear arms. It does not limit what kind of arms or when we may be allowed to carry them. It also says that this right shall not be infringed. And yet, that is just what has been done and continues to be done. In my opinion even such things as gun registration is an infringement of that right. Having to obtain conceal carry licenses is another insidious infringement. Tracking gun or ammunition purchases also seems highly suspect to me.

Further, our Constitution provides the right of the people to be secure against unreasonable seizures. What is more unreasonable than just seizing private property because a government wishes to have more control of its citizens? Not because we broke any laws, but because a portion, a rather small portion apparently, of our population has decided they don't like guns.

This is a very dangerous path our governments are headed down. And, we the people are to blame for allowing them to encroach so far into our rights that we now have to fight them on such basic freedoms as those two I have listed. We must put a stop to those who propose to steal our rights, just as they propose to steal our guns. We must let all our governments, from local to federal, know that Americans still cherish the Constitution and the rights we are provided under it.

May God bless America. But, He can't do it alone. We gotta step up and do our part. If we are passive and allow the government to continue leeching away our freedom, then we deserve what we get. So, let's get active and fight back against those who would oppress us and deny us our rights! To paraphrase a very old song, "Praise the Lord and buy some ammunition"!
